💉🛡️ Stay Safe with Vaccinations in the UK 

Vaccinations (also called immunisations) help protect you, your children, and your community from serious diseases. It’s important to keep your vaccinations up to date. Most vaccines are given when children are babies or before they start school. But some are given later — for teenagers or adults too. If you missed a vaccine, you can still get it. Just speak to your GP (family doctor). 👩‍⚕️ 

📖 Here are the main vaccinations the NHS recommends in the UK:

🔗 NHS Recommended Vaccinations 

 🦠💨 Flu Vaccination (Influenza) 

🧒 For Children: 

  • Given every year to children aged 2 to 8 years. 
  • Given as a spray in the nose – no needles! 😊 
  • Usually done at nursery or school. 

👵 For Adults:  Free if you are: 

  • Over 65  
  • Pregnant 
  • Have a long-term health condition (like asthma or diabetes) 
  • Others can get it at a pharmacy for £10–£20.

 👶💉 MMR – Measles, Mumps, Rubella 

  • This vaccine protects you from three serious illnesses: 
  • Measles 😷 
  • Mumps 😖 
  • Rubella (German measles) 🩺 
  • These can cause serious problems like: 
  • Meningitis 
  • Hearing loss 
  • Pregnancy problems 

💡 You need 2 doses of the MMR vaccine for full protection.

  • Protects you from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) virus. 

✅ You can get a first and second dose if you are 5 or older.
✅ Some people can also get booster doses: 

You may get a booster if you are: 

  • Aged 50 or older 
  • Pregnant 
  • Have a weakened immune system 
  • A health or care worker
