Being a Carer 💙

If you look after someone who is sick, has a health problem, or a disability, and they can’t do everything on their own, you are a carer. This means you help them a lot, but you don’t get paid. The person you care for could be a family member, a friend, or a neighbour. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦❤️

Help from Leeds City Council 🏢
If you are a carer, Leeds City Council can help you. They can support the person you care for or help you get a short rest from your caring duties. This rest is called a break. If you contact the Council, they will do a carer’s assessment. This means they will talk to you to see what help you need. You might also get some money help called Carers Allowance or other benefits. To learn more about being a carer and getting help, you can visit the Leeds City Council website: Caring for Family and Friends
