🏫 How to Choose a School for Your Child

Choosing a school is an important decision. Here are some simple steps to help you:

🚍 1. Can Your Child Travel Easily to School?

Think about how your child will get to school:

🚌 School Buses, Some schools have their own school buses. Find a School Bus

🎟️ Free Transport, Some children can get free transport to school. Home to School Transport

 👀 2. Visit the School

🏫 Most schools have open days. You and your child can visit, see the classrooms, meet teachers, and ask questions.

 🌐 3. Check the School’s Website

💻 Every school has a website. You can:

  • See photos of the school
  • Read about activities
  • Learn about school rules and values

🗣️ 4. Talk to Other Parents

Ask parents whose children already go to the school:

  • Do they like the school?
  • Is their child happy?
  • What do they think about the teachers and learning?

📋 5. Look at Ofsted Reports

🧐 Ofsted is the government group that checks how good schools are. Every school gets a grade from Ofsted. The report tells you:

  • How well children learn
  • How good the teachers are
  • If the school is well-run

🔍 You can search for schools near your home using your postcode. Use the “distance from your home” filter to help.

📊 6. Check the School League Tables

League tables show:

  • 📚 Exam results
  • 🧑‍🏫 Ofsted grades
  • 💰 School finances

This helps you compare schools and see how well they are doing.
